two more months.

in 15 minutes, i'll be cabbing it to Logan International Airport... I'm coming home for the next four months.
since last mentioned, i have signed a lease and put down my first month's rent on an apartment starting in september. it's a gorgeous 3bed penthouse, completely renovated, huge, hardwood floors, walk-in closets Mariah Carey-style, modern kitchen, front deck and back deck, ... amazing. my rent is only $733 a month. i almost died from excitement. goodbye Thousand Oaks... forever.

so this semester is almost over... thank God.

+I went home for Valentine's weekend.
+I went home for spring break.
+My brother drove up to see me.

-I have to pay for laundry.

after much debate... and many tears...
As of September 2006, I will be living in Boston for good. On September 1st, I will be packing everything I own into my Blazer and driving my entire life up here. I have three roommates whom I care for dearly that i will be sharing an apartment with until further notice... (a.k.a. the boyfriend hopefully follows me here and we get our own place?)
Remember when I said I wouldn't go back after I finish school? So it will be, my friends... so it will be. And when you see my name on TV for being the best goddamn corporate lawyer in the world, you will remember the legacy I have left at TOHS, and the Starbucks on Moorpark and TO Blvd, JintheBox, at the County of Ventura Sheriff's Station... the legacy I have left at The Cheesecake Factory, at David Feldman's mailbox, and everywhere you go in Thousand Oaks, you will fucking remember me, forever.
I was meant for bigger things than Thousand Oaks, and thankfully, the parents have come to realize that and fully support my decision.

i am so happy to be home...
i have the best boyfriend in the world. he planned a whole surprise day for us to be together, all by himself. he picked me up, and i had no idea where we were going... he drove me to San Diego, where he used to live. he showed me all the places he used to go, we ate at his favorite mexican food place for lunch... it was so cute. then he took me to the mall, where i ran into Pat Sievert, Mike Kennedy, and Dane Marcelletti. random. then we walked along mission beach... then he showed me downtown, and we went to the Harbor House, a nice seafood/steak place in Seaport where he had made reservations... then he gave me a diamond necklace. WHAT? yea... it's gorgeous. then we drove over the bridge into coronado, sat on the beach for a while... and then drove all the way home.
how did i find this one?

so, in a nutshell, somehow in the last 6 days my life went from Cloud Nine, to the darkest depths of Hell.
let me elaborate.
kind of.
in california, there is now a warrant out for my arrest.
i have never had such low grades as i do now.
i don't sleep anymore.
i have some mental issues, and am now seeing a psychiatrist.
i think i'm losing it.

i went home this last weekend, and surprised Dan... only my Dad knew I was coming home, and everything went so perfectly...
I had my dad drop me off in front of Dan's house on Friday when I knew he would be home.. and I called him and told him that my dad dropped off a surprise for him on his doorstep.. (I had told him a week earlier that I got him a little present.) So while I'm on the phone with him, he opens the door, and there I am, holding a Boston necktie I got for him to wear to work. I'm like "Here's your present I told you about, I thought I'd drop it off myself." oh man, the look on his face....
to see his girlfriend who lives 3000 miles away, on his front porch out of the blue.
he was soooo excited!!
so we spent the whole weekend together.
i definitely needed that...
oh, and the sex was amazing. hahhaha....
now only two weeks til spring break and I can see him again... i love it here, but I miss home so much. it's like I have two separate lives now... my Boston/working/school/focused life here, and then my laidback/do what I want/California life... I love it.
oh and I dyed my hair reaaallllyyy dark brown. I like it.
I'm also changing my major. I realized that I never really liked math... and I was never exceptionally great at it... I got the same grades in it as everything else. I was majoring in it because it was what was expected of me... yea, cryptography would have been fun, but it's so damn hard to get into the NSA without the military, and I'm just not feeling a six-year contract. plus, code-breaking isn't as much fun as it used to be...
so, here I am. in school, with no major... and I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I want to do law. now I just need to pick a major... so I'm thinking English, Poli Sci, History, Psychology, Sociology... I don't know yet. those are my top five though. haha. we'll see how the next couple years play out.

so my classes are getting better. at least a little more interesting, even if i still don't like them. it's only one semester after all. i think i'm going to study arabic on the side, not as a major or anything, by the way.
i'm so homesick... i email Sawitz back and forth every other day. he keeps me sane, grounded, and focused on what i'm actually doing here. he reminds me of what i need to accomplish, both scholarly and otherwise. for the umpteenth time in the past 2 years, i dont know what i would do without the man.
i went out to this bar the other night with all these people from Cheesecake Factory out here. (for those of you who dont know, i'm still working, but now as a server for the one here in boston.) i got so completely and utterly drunk... i havent done that in ages, and now i remember why i dont drink to excess... ever.
i miss dan... i miss my own room, my blazer, and all the familiarities of home. however, i do like being out on my own for once, and on my own schedule. i decide when to do what... i have my own mailbox, i eat when im hungry... and i dont have to answer to anyone. its motivating to get my ass out of bed everyday.
ive started making the 35 minute walk to and from work every day. i pass through downtown, partly residential (if you can even call the city brownstone apartments "residential"), and across parks, and some random river/wash thing. and in the wintertime, it's all lightly dusted with snow. it's an amazing walk to say the least. scary at night though, so i only walk if it's light, and i take the subway after dark. i'll post some pictures some day.

aaaaah. at last, im in boston. i stopped in oklahoma on the way, to see TJ for a day... that was really cool. i think its so cool that we still talk, and we actually saw each other after meeting 2 years ago. he might come out to california with his best friend during the summer.
i miss dan so so so much. its going to be a very hard 52 days until spring break when i can see him again. i miss his hugs and kisses... waking up next to him...
so tomorrow i get to move into my dorm. and tonight i figured out the subway system, and got to Cheesecake Factory to meet my new managers. i start serving next week. definitely excited about that.
no, its not snowing here, and no its not raining either. its cold, but not as bad as i thought it was going to be. it snowed when i was in oklahoma though. random. haha.

so im finally leaving for boston... in less than a week. monday night at 9:05pm to be exact. crazy that its finally here....
after courtney tells me to post pics of dan and i, i realized i haven't posted ANY in the 4 months and 1 week we have been together. oh my... thats a long time... and i love him to pieces, that boy.
